5 Of Our Favourite Event Design Trends We've Seen This Year | Festival Design and Event Installation Team
As we prepare for the summer season, we’re busy building an array of proposals in the office for festivals, corporate events and parties. And we wouldn’t be a design team without having a few of our favourites which we hope continue to flourish in the event industry as we move through the year!
Let us walk you through our top five standout trends shaping the creative industry so far. Whether you're looking for inspiration for your next event or just love staying ahead of the curve, these are the styles you won’t want to miss and that we cannot wait to use in our designs and installations!
1) Cowboy Chic
The first of our faves takes us to the outback, where country chic is standard.
This trend has been gaining momentum since late 2024, with pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter making cowboy boots a fashion staple. Naturally, this rustic style has transitioned into the event industry, balancing rugged textures and raw materials with softer, more feminine details. Frills, warm tones, and layered textiles are key to making this aesthetic feel inviting.
Reclaimed Wood Seating
Reclaimed wood seating isn’t just a stylish choice at events, it’s a practical one. Uplevel this rustic base with boho-inspired lounges, where layered cushions, velvet throws, and vintage-style rugs add warmth and texture. Leather elements further enhance the aged, farmhouse feel, while statement installations, such as faux cacti, swinging saloon doors, and curved wood archways, bring personality to the space.
Upcycled Barrels
Upcycled barrels, from classic whiskey casks to brightly painted oil drums, are making a statement in event design, adding a modern twist to the cowboy vibes. Whether used as decorative accents, cocktail tables, or bold focal points, these repurposed pieces bring a unique blend of rustic charm and colour to the space.
Outdoor Styling
And the trend continues outdoors, where cosy fire pits create an inviting atmosphere with warm, glowing lighting and soft fur accessories. These elements bring a sense of warmth, making outdoor spaces feel just as curated and stylish as their indoor counterparts!
2) Overgrown Greenery
Bringing the beauty of nature into design, the overgrown greenery trend is all about untamed, wild, foliage. In 2025, we’re predicting this trend to be seen in abundance, with dramatic living wall installs creating immersive and close-to-nature experiences.
Natural Textures
Living walls, oversized installations and freeflowing arrangements make up the heart of this aesthetic, really letting nature take the lead! An event fully embracing this trend will choose furniture made up of natural materials such as wood and rattan, whilst including either faux or real foliage to accessorise.
Entrances and Winding Pathways
Some of our favourite natural installs start at the entrance, where wild, tousled greenery creates an inviting and organic atmosphere. Overgrown foliage and winding pathways not only make a striking first impression but also help to guide guests through the space and enhance the immersive feel of the event.
We love how the overgrown greenery is taking over!
3) Curve Appeal
Bringing fluidity and softness into event design is Curve Appeal. It’s redefining spaces with its flowing shapes and sculptural aesthetic!
Characterised by serpentines tables, irregular shapes and smooth, rounded edges, this movement is breaking away from rigidity and embracing curved freeflowing vibes.
Maximalism and Minimalism
This trend thrives in both maximalist and minimalist settings. Soft pastels and muted tones create a gentle effortless feel, where bold colours and intense patterns give it a striking and contemporary edge.
Installations
Curved shapes appear most in backdrops, archways, and stage designs. They work perfectly at experiential brand activations where they can be branded and photographed by event guests and customers. We’ve seen curves creep into all elements of event design including ceiling installations, table decor and bars!
4) Eclectic Maximalism
Bold, lavish and expressive, Eclectic Maximalism, is a design trend that thrives on excess in the best possible way. Drawing inspiration from the opulent, layered aesthetics of brands like Gucci, this trend embraces rich textures, striking patterns and bold colours.
Bold Prints and Colour Schemes
At its core, this trend is all about contrast. Bold floral prints sit alongside block colours of pink and green. Whilst animal prints and vintage elements add a unique edge. Large installs such as ceiling arrangements create a sense of luxury, and can transform any space.
Bars and Stations
We’ve seen some incredible designers create eye-catching floral bars and statement cocktail stations in this style. From textile covered bar fronts to cascading florals from the structures, this is an incredible opportunity to maximise impact and include the theme at every moment possible.
What really sets this trend apart is its completely bespoke nature. This is not a trend that can easily be replicated, or a package that can be reused time and time again. It’s a style that requires skilled designers with an artistic eye to curate elements that feel intentional rather than chaotic. Every detail is a statement!
5) Fruit Market
And last but not least, we have the vibrant Fruit Market trend!
Bursting with colour, vibrancy and charm, the Fruit Market trend transforms event venues into lively bustling experiences. The colour palettes are always fresh, including bold oranges, reds, yellows and greens, but also balanced with natural textures to ground the aesthetic.
Abundance Is Key
This trend is all about impact. We’ve seen cascading fruit displays, overflowing baskets, and market-style stalls creating a setting that feels both opulent and organic. Whether using real or faux fruit, sustainability is key and produce should be responsibly sourced and repurposed post-event.
Contrasting Textures and Tones
This trend thrives on the contrast between blending rustic wooden furniture, with dainty florals as a key juxtaposition.
Oversized, overflowing arrangements set a dramatic tone, while interactive elements, such as bold entrance designs, branded pop-ups, and Instagrammable photo moments, make the experience feel immersive!
We adore this trend for its freshness and deliciousness, and can’t wait to see it used at events throughout 2025.
From the rustic charm of Country Chic to the bold extravagance of Eclectic Maximalism and the vibrancy of Fruit Market, 2025’s design trends are all about pushing creative boundaries.
Whether it’s embracing organic, overgrown greenery, the fluidity of curved forms, or statement-making textures and prints, this year’s aesthetics prove that personality and storytelling are at the heart of great design!
As we continue to see these trends evolve, one thing is clear, design in 2025 is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about experience, emotion, and creating spaces that feel both intentional and unforgettable.
We can’t wait to see how these trends take shape in the months to come!
